About the Role:

We are seeking a Principal Data Engineer to lead and guide the Data Engineering function within our clients organisation. This role will run until June 2025, with the possibility of extension or transition into a permanent position. You will provide technical leadership across teams, ensuring high-quality outcomes for various data projects. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with business users, IT specialists, and external vendors to deliver critical data solutions aligned with our Technology Roadmap.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Data Engineers in delivering high-quality, on-time outcomes across Data and BI initiatives.
• Provide thought leadership and technical direction in data engineering, development, and architecture.
• Design, develop, and enhance enterprise analytics solutions, with day-to-day support for existing systems.
• Serve as a backup Data Architect, ensuring robust data modeling and solution design.
• Build and enhance bespoke data applications, visualizations, and real-time dashboards using PowerBI and other tools.
• Collaborate on new projects, ensuring alignment with business needs and technology advancements.
• Implement development standards and frameworks, migrate legacy applications, and prepare data for advanced analytics applications, including machine learning.
