Are you a dedicated and experienced Family Lawyer with expertise in property settlements? Do you have a passion for helping individuals and families navigate the complexities of property division during separation or divorce? If so, we want to hear from you! Our client is a well-established Queensland law firm who works with clients across metro and regional Queensland and looking to expand their team with a particular focus on property settlements.

Position Overview:

As a Family Lawyer specializing in property settlements, you will be responsible for assisting clients in Brisbane and regional Queensland resolving property and financial matters associated with family law cases. Your role will involve providing expert legal advice, negotiating settlements, and representing clients in court when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Legal Consultation: Conduct initial client consultations to understand their unique situations and provide expert legal advice regarding property settlements.
  2. Case Management: Manage a caseload of family law cases related to property settlements, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
  3. Negotiation: Negotiate favourable property settlement agreements through mediation and direct discussions with opposing parties or their legal representatives.
  4. Court Representation: Represent clients in family court proceedings related to property settlements, presenting their cases effectively and professionally.
  5. Documentation: Prepare and review legal documents, including property settlement agreements, financial disclosures, and court submissions.
  6. Legal Research: Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations, ensuring that legal strategies are aligned with current legislation.
  7. Client Communication: Maintain clear and responsive communication with clients, keeping them informed about case progress and advising them on their options.

Qualifications:

  • A valid Australian legal practicing certificate.
  • Experience as a Family Lawyer with a focus on property settlements.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian family law, specifically property division.
  • Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Courtroom experience and the ability to represent clients effectively.
  • Dedication to maintaining client confidentiality and building trust.
